Bicycle lighting for e-bikes
We have designed new bicycle lighting for e-bikes for Herrmans, a Finnish original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for bicycle accessories. The design is contemporary and in line with the latest trends in bicycle design. Daily contact with the client made the project progress real agile and kept everyone tightly involved. The end product has a high light output, is durable, reliable and is above all quick to mount on any bike.
Smart design
The lighting consists of a single housing in plastic and/or aluminium, a lens and a frame. This means that front lights can be manufactured in 5 different combinations. The rear light is available in versions with and without a brake light.
Design for assembly
With the light being produced in Finland, fully automated and in high numbers, this project is a perfect example of ‘design for assembly’. All elements of the product have been fine-tuned in design and engineering to make this possible. Besides the assembly of the product itself, the installation of the lights on the bike has been optimized by the new connectors we developed.
Facts and Features
Thanks to the anti-glare low beam and high beam for off-road cycling with a sharp dividing line and a homogeneous and wide light pattern, the Nordic Series is now optimised for urban environments. The aluminum version of the housing enables the high-power LEDs to be cooled efficiently. The reflector and arm-piece are pre-assembled and the lights can be connected hassle free thanks to the new connector for these models.
