Lights for e-bikes
We have had the opportunity to design and develop a lot of bike accessories in recent years. The lights for MonkeyLink attracted FLYER’s attention and led to the commission to design the lights for their latest e-bikes.
Brand driven design
FLYER AG is a high-end e-bike brand from Switzerland. FLYER e-bikes are in the higher segment of the market and come complete with accessories designed exclusively for the brand. In the briefing, it became apparent how exclusive they would be: our client saw the headlights of the Porsche 911 as the source of inspiration. This was something we could definitely work with as designers.
Smooth collaboration
The sketching phase proceeded at an extremely rapid pace thanks to the unparalleled speed of communication with FLYER. Clear feedback on the sketches submitted often came back in under an hour. This meant that choices could be implemented in the drafts straight away. Our collaboration has continued to be smooth and flexible right through to delivery, which makes us feel extra good about the results.
Facts and Features
The headlight is in an all-aluminium and is directly connected to the handlebar display. It has a daylight feature for extra visibility on the road. The headlight has a strong capacity of 100LUX, which is reassuring when cycling on unlit roads at night.
