Product engineer

Who are we:
We have been designing and developing products for numerous sectors for years. In our projects we strive for the right added value and (sustainable) impact. We help our clients in all phases of product development: from drafting the first idea up to production management support. All with great pleasure.
Our team consists of 25 colleagues, with a shared passion for design and technology. There is an informal, pleasant working atmosphere, we have good quality coffee and there is also regularly something to do outside working hours.
Your role:
As a product engineer, you work in various project teams. You are involved in every phase of the design process and always work closely with colleague designers and engineers.
You develop mechanical principles and translate design concepts into technically feasible and producible product designs. You work these out in detail in technical drawings, built up in SolidWorks or if requested in CREO
We offer an inspiring job with a lot of responsibility. You work on several assignments simultaneously and have regular project meetings with your team members, suppliers and the client.
Who are you:
- You have a background in Industrial Design Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- You have just finished your studies or already have some relevant work experience in product development.
- You are capable of dealing with deadlines and can work on multiple projects at the same time.
- SolidWorks does not have secrets for you, experience with CREO is an advantage.
- You have knowledge of common production techniques such as plastic injection molding and the processing of steel, sheet metal and aluminum; affinity with 3D printing is a big plus.
- You are hands-on and like building and testing prototypes made in our own model workshop.

trainee industrial designer
Every six months npk design offers a number of training positions for Dutch and foreign students who want to gain practical experience. Trainees will participate in various projects and during the course of the training period obtain a realistic view of what it is like to work in the field of Industrial Design. Suitable candidates should be in the final stages of Industrial Design studies and be available full-time for a fixed period of six months. Trainees will receive a reasonable allowance during this time.

We have two main internship periods per year; starting around August/September and February/March.
In general, we don’t offer ‘ready-made’ graduation projects. But we are always open to discuss new ideas. For instance: if you have already found a graduation company, but are still looking for a design coach who can advise and assist you.
