We are extremely proud to announce that the design team of Geesa, a renowned Dutch manufacturer of bathroom accessories, and npk design collaborated on a completely new collection. Slender, compact and graceful; those words characterise Tone. Due to the attractive simpleness and smart design of its accessories, Tone feels at home in both modern and in extravagant interiors. The elegant curves are both subtle and strong at the same time. Modest, but powerful enough to make every bathroom look glorious.
Geesa was specifically looking for a new design vision in the exciting field that lies between pure architectural and classic: ‘Robust Minimalism’.
As designers we took this challenge with pleasure and enthusiasm: it involved looking for a new balance between volume, lineation, the shine of the chrome surfaces, subtle transitions and the tension of slightly curved surfaces. The result is a smart, flexible series that appeals to a broad audience and therefore versatile in a broad market segment.
The assignment for Geesa was a perfect match with our preferred way of working; using hand sketching sessions in the concept phase to define the right concept, as well as early and frequent prototyping so that we could constantly refine form-, and shine details.
