Always a good sitting posture for everybody
The way people work has changed enormously over the past few years. The office has become more of a meeting place. Be by Bèta wanted to launch the most sustainable and circular office chair ever on the market. After the height is adjusted, the chair provides the maximum comfort regardless of who is sitting in it.
A new mechanism in recycled material
We have developed a mechanism with which the user’s posture automatically ensures the correct counter-pressure in the chair. The design of the chair is aimed at providing the user with comfort and support. And because the user’s weight is distributed effectively, comfort is guaranteed in every sitting position. The ‘human-feel’ material in the seat and backrest of the chair increases the comfort level even more.
The raw materials used for the chair components are recovered from waste flows. The seat and back are made of 100% recycled PET bottles, and the frame is made of 100% upcycled polyamide (nylon). The latter material is unique. This new, strong and 100% pure polyamide is manufactured from old residual plastics. Except for the base and gas spring, the chair is made entirely of recycled material.
The parts are easy to disassemble, repair and recycle into new, 100% recycled PET and PA granules. The chair can be returned after its lifespan and the parts are reused. Following its 1st or 2nd lifespan, the chair has a resale value guarantee. This means that no new raw materials are required. The chair therefore has a very low carbon footprint.
The most striking aspect of this chair is its simplicity. All you need to do is sit down and press a button and everything works automatically. The logic of simplicity.

An innovative production process
In collaboration with the client, the mould manufacturer, the supplier and the producer of the materials, a technological marvel has been developed with an innovative production process for the frame of this office chair. The process is called gas injection moulding.
