npk design moves to ‘De Meelfabriek’
Recently the partners of npk design signed a tenancy agreement for a special location in Leiden.
With this our office moving to ‘De Meelfabriek’ in Leiden has become a fact.
De Meelfabriek is one of the most important remains of Leiden’s rich industrial past. To the inhabitants of Leiden it is a historical landmark in the city, but it is also part of the Dutch industrial heritage. Real estate developer Ab van der Wiel has taken up the challenge to transform the entire flourmill complex into a vibrant part of town.
The master plan for the redevelopment, designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, comprises loft apartments, a city hotel with wellness facilities, offices and exhibition spaces, an underground car park with a park on the top.
At the moment the renovation of the old executive office is in full progress. We are very pleased to announce that we’re moving into the first floor of this building in February/March of 2018.
The special industrial environment, the impressive buildings and location – close to the historical center of Leiden – makes De Meelfabriek unique to us. The renovated buildings and the new functions they get, attract creative professionals. There will be architects, designers, an advertising agency, concept stores, and many more. With the redevelopment a potential new creative hot spot will come into being.
